Summer Reading Huge Success for Kids!

Thanks to the four Temporary Summer Hires pictured here -- Cameron Doucette, Ruth Paredes, Amara Greene, and Carlos Ramirez -- the Summer Reading Clubs ran smooth as silk! Children's Librarian Kat Rawald raved about how they made it possible for her to serve 2,781 kids this summer!

All four are college students and two of them may even become librarians! While you may assume those two are the females...well, actually you would be right in this case. I guess it might be something about girls and language arts skills and organization and the love of reading. Nevertheless, those two guys would make awesome librarians, too!

A bit of sad news is that we will be losing Kat as our Children's Librarian soon because she has accepted a job at Sacred Heart School. Her husband is off to the Iraq War, and she needs to have more time with her two children. We totally understand, but we sure are going to miss her energy and excitement around here every day. She leaves behind a legacy that will stand as a model for our children's programming in the future. Good luck, Kat!
